Launch of New Version of Awarding Body Management System - Parnassus

Gordon Associates will be launching the new version of its Parnassus awarding body management system this autumn. Launch events will take place at the Federation of Awarding Bodies annual conference at the Ricoh Arena on 14/15 October and at Microsoft's UK head office in Reading in November. Parnassus is a mountain in Greece that was the seat of learning for the ancient Greeks - the perfect title for a solution that enables awarding bodies to manage qualifications, centres, learners, assessment and certification.

Awarding Body Management System Goes Live

1st4sport Qualifications is an awarding body which works in partnership with a variety of organisations, including The Football Association (FA), The Rugby Football Union (RFU), England Hockey and Sports Coach UK, to develop and award qualifications for the active learning and leisure industry. See 1st4Sport Qualifications has recently gone live with a customised implementation of Gordon Associates' Parnassus solution for awarding bodies. The system provides support for the administration and management of qualifications, approved learning providers, events, registration of learners and grade entry.

Tony Dallimore, Education Director, says “The system has proved popular with all business users, reducing processing time, streamlining business processes and improving customer service.” 1st4Sport are currently processing tens of thousands of learner registrations per year and the new system will help 1st4Sport during the anticipated growth in learner numbers over the coming years. Other phases of the project are planned for online learner registration and a CRM system for event and assessor management.

Gordon Associates Assists with Certification for online Diploma Aggregation Service

GA has helped two awarding bodies achieve certification for the new government online initiative, the Diploma Aggregation Service (formerly known as Minerva). The 14-19 Diploma is a new type of qualification for students that want a more vocational alternative to GCSEs and A levels. Awarding bodies or exam boards offering diplomas or components towards these new qualifications need to become certified Diploma Awarding Bodies (DABs) or Component Awarding Bodies (CABs). This process requires staff to perform a series of tests for interfacing with the diploma portal, both manually and via integration with internal systems. GA has assisted a DAB and a CAB in the testing process which has resulted in a successful certification. If you are looking to interface with the diploma aggregation service in the future, we can provide assistance with consultancy and technical software services.
