Garden Centre Association Extranet

Gordon Associates has recently been appointed web designers for the UK ’s Garden Centre Assocation. From its headquarters near Reading , the association provides a forum for over 160 of the UK ’s leading garden centres. Initial development work on www.gca.org.uk includes: enhancements to content-managed elements of the web-site, booking system for the association’s annual three-day conference, Barometer of Trade – members extranet for the submission and an al ysis of monthly turnover figures across the industry.

Huntleigh eCommerce Going Live in Spain

Huntleigh Healthcare are a UK-based manufacturer of hospit al equipment, selling around the world via sales offices in around 30 countries. The company has a turnover of more than £100million and sells hospital beds and other equipment direct to hospital and health authorities. Huntleigh Healthcare are an existing customer of Gordon Associates for whom we have developed a comprehensive multi-language content-managed site which al lows subsidiaries in Germany, France, China, Spain - and many other locations - to specify their own product portfolio in a way that is unique to their market and language. Gordon Associates have now just completed the implementation of a new Business-to-Business and Business-to-Consumer eCommerce web-site as an extension of the public site. The site allows customers to place orders for a sophisticated range of products, in addition to booking equipment rentals. Key features of the site include an approvals process for purchasing teams within large accounts and integration to Huntleigh’s internal business management systems. The eCommerce site will first go live with the Spain subsidiary in January 2007 and will be rolled out to other subsidiaries throughout the year.

Office 2007 Launch Events

Rod Gordon has been heavily involved in a series of Microsoft events to launch the new version of their flagship products: Office 2007, Exchange 2007 and Vista (the new version of Windows). Rod was invited to be a guest speaker at the IT Pro Launch on 12th December which attracted over 300 IT managers and network administrators to Microsoft’s offices in Reading. The Dev Launch on 19th January is targeted at developers and how they might develop applications with the new version of Office and, in particular, the amazing new graphics engine in Vista . Rod will be attending this event in his capacity as Chairman of the Office User Group.

Office User Group Formed

Due to its standing in the UK IT community, Gordon Associates was recently invited by Microsoft to form and chair the UK Office User Group. This independent group will provide a forum for individu al s and corporates to share their experience of using the Office products. The group will hold its first event on 24th January 2007 with a conference to assess the pros and cons of the new version of Office.

New CRM Business Unit

You may have seen the extensive advertising by Microsoft of their Dynamics range recently – including full-page ads in The Times and publicity campaigns on nation al radio. The two most well-known Dynamics components are Great Plains (which is trying to capture Sage’s market) and Microsoft CRM , which is an extremely comprehensive customer relationship management solution. January 2007 sees the launch of Gordon Associates’ new CRM business unit. This team can provide services for configuring and customising Microsoft’s extensive, flexible application which is al ready on course to dominate the UK ’s CRM market.
